Which Fillers Last The Longest?

First-time users of dermal fillers can be so different from each other. Some patients are confident and come in, sit down, and don’t bother too much as we go about giving their injections. Other patients make up for that! Some patients come in with a million questions about every aspect of dermal fillers, so much so they give us a good refresh on everything we know.
The Filler You Choose
Many filler brands contain Hyaluronic acid as their active ingredient, and how long these fillers last under your skin will depend on which you select. Hyaluronic acid fillers add volume to cheeks and lips, and they’re also a perfect choice to help hide smile lines and other deep-set wrinkles. Overall, you can expect your results to last from six to twenty four months with these fillers.
Fillers that use Calcium Hydroxylapatite increase collagen production in the skin, lifting and plumping the skin so the surface is left with a more even appearance. This filler is often used to increase volume under the skin and lift the cheeks. It is also used to reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds. This filler can last in the skin from twelve to eighteen months.
Just to make things more complicated, the provider you go to can affect how long your fillers last, whether they’re located in the face or another part of the body (like the hands). If the provider isn’t very careful, or is unfamiliar with new fillers, they may place the fillers incorrectly, which can lead to poor results and quicker depletion of the filler. We recommend doing your research, finding a provider you trust, and being consistent with your provider who can get to know you and your preferences.
