The Consultation

You probably have been thinking about a cosmetic surgical improvement for a long time and it is important for you to feel comfortable with your surgeon. During your initial consultation with Dr. Petropoulos at her practice near Boston, your goals for facial plastic surgery will be discussed as well as the potential results of various treatments.

Dr. Petropoulos will take your medical history and examine you to help you determine which treatment modality will best help you achieve your aesthetic goals, be it a surgical treatment or a non-surgical treatment, based on your skin type, bone structure and overall health. You will also be able to view several before and after photographs of patients having elected similar treatments. You will learn how and where the surgery is performed, what types of anaesthesia are recommended, what are the potential risks and how much healing time is necessary.

Before considering cosmetic surgery, you must ask yourself these important questions: What is your goal, what do you want to achieve, and are your expectations realistic? Discuss these and any other questions with Dr. Petropoulos to enable you to make a well informed decision for a treatment that is right for you. After your consultation, you may schedule surgery, or go home and think things over. You may come back for a second consultation if you wish, or even schedule a separate computer imaging consultation.
