EmSculpt®

Sometimes no matter how hard we hit the gym; we just do not see the results that we are looking for. Whether your goals are to grow and tone your abs, glutes, legs, or arms it can be very hard to achieve the desired look you want at the gym.

Dr. Petropoulos offers EmSculpt® as a non-invasive option for building muscle by up to 17 percent and reducing fat by up to 19 percent. This innovative treatment uses High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic technology to induce powerful muscle contractions to build muscle and reduce fat without any downtime. EmSculpt is also the only body contouring device available that helps to melt stubborn visceral fat, the “hard” belly fat most men and women struggle to get rid of!

How Does EmSculpt® Work?

After your consultation with Dr. Petropoulos, our talented medical providers will escort you to our body sculpting suite for your treatment. The applicator is positioned over the chosen muscle group and secured with a strap to ensure it stays in place. The EmSculpt® applicator uses High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic technology to engage all muscles in the treatment area to perfectly sculpt your body. Lay down and relax while EmSculpt® does all the work for you for the next 30-40 minutes. You will feel your muscles contract, but it is not painful. We then slowly increase the contractions to warm up the muscles and slowly build up their strength. During treatment, your phone, electronic watches, and jewelry should be removed and placed in a safe space. Due to the electromagnetic technology EmSculpt® uses it could damage devices if they are used during your treatment. While you are being treated you can relax, read a book, or even take a nap!

After your treatment, your body gets to work to reduce fat and build muscle in the treated area. The muscle building process takes 2-8 weeks, but you will end up with up to 17 percent muscle gain. The fat elimination process takes up to 12 weeks with up to 19 percent reduction in fat. The best results are seen between 8-12 weeks after your last EmSculpt® treatment.

Candidates For EmSculpt®?

While EmSculpt® does reduce fat, it is not a weight-loss procedure but rather, a muscle building and body sculpting procedure. EmSculpt® is intended to reduce stubborn fat and visceral fat in certain treatment areas that do not respond to diet or exercise. Patients can see even more dramatic results when combining their treatments with Cool Sculpting to freeze and eliminate fat cells. Dr. Petropoulos and the medical aesthetic team here at Center for Classic Beauty, offer EmSculpt® to all patients that would like to see an increase in muscle in their abdomen, glutes, arms and calves.

The FDA has approved EmSculpt® for treating these areas:

  • Abdomen
  • Glutes
  • Arms ( Biceps and Triceps )
  • Calves
  • Thighs

Recovery For EmSculpt®?

EmSculpt® is a completely non-invasive treatment. There is no need for pain relievers or topical anesthetic, simply lay down and relax! After your treatment is completed, you are free to return to your daily activities as usual!

How Many EmSculpt® Treatments Do I Need?

To see the best results, Dr. Petropoulos recommends 4 treatments over the course of 2 weeks with at least 48 hours in between EmSculpt® sessions. You can have additional treatments on the same area, but it is not recommended to have more than 8 consecutive treatments. To maintain your results, it is recommended that you do 1 treatment quarterly.

Can EmSculpt® Be Combined With Additional Procedures?

EmSculpt® is designed to increase the muscle in a treatment area and reduce fat. However, it can only reduce fat in certain areas such as your abdomen and arms. Therefore, patients who are interested in more fat reduction may wish to combine their EmSculpt® treatments with CoolSculpting. Treatment may not be conducted simultaneously.

Are There Any Side Effects With EmSculpt®?

One of the primary benefits of EmSculpt® is the safe and non-invasive nature of the treatment. Side effects are generally limited to mild muscle soreness just as if you had worked out at the gym. The muscle soreness is mild due to the tapping portion of the treatment. EmSculpt® taps the lactic acid out of the muscles during treatment to prevent intense muscle soreness post treatment.
